By default, any link or action in Salesforce that allows the user to compose an email will open the email with the built-in Salesforce Email Composer.
Users can set edit this setting to instead use their default email application. For example, a user with a default email application set to Outlook on the web , it will open Outlook in the current tab. To change this setting:
