2020-2021 classified staff planning tasks will be available on May 1, 2020.

The performance planning task allows you to

  • create goals.

  • sign-off to acknowledge that you have a plan in place.

This classified performance task is a 3 step process that begins with the supervisor.

At the beginning of each cycle, the supervisor will see a new task in the Tasks (Action Required) box on the homepage. The supervisor will complete the first step of the task:

Step 1: Supervisor Performance Planning

Performance Plan Review

  1. From the homepage, click the performance planning task for you employee. it should be titled “[2020-2021] Performance Planning Checklist for [Employee Name].”

  2. From the overview screen, read the directions and click “Get Started.”

  3. You now have the option to create a plan. If you have any pre-existing goals within the current review period date range, they will show up here. You can also add new goals using the Add Performance Plan button in the upper right corner. When adding goals, you can follow steps for Creating a Goal.

  4. Once you’ve added all goals for the employee, click the Save and Continue button.

You should already see the Core Competencies listed here. All employees will have core competencies added before the performance planning task is pushed to users.

Supervisor Goal Planning Checklist & Supervisor Sign-off

  1. The Supervisor Goal Planning Checklist page ensures that a plan has been created and a 1-on-1 meeting has occurred. Check the boxes for the following items:

    1. Consider alignment of the Performance Plan with the supervisor/department objectives

    2. Create goals, job duties, and competencies for the employee's performance plan

    3. Meet with your employee to discuss their performance plan

  2. Click Next.

  3. On the Supervisor Sign-Off page, provide your signature and click Sign.

  4. Click Submit when you are ready to send the performance plan to the reviewer.

  5. A confirmation page will display. The performance plan has now been sent to the reviewer to review and acknowledge.

  • At any step prior to submitting, you can use the Save and Exit button to save your changes and return to the task at a later time.

  • While this tasks ensures that a plan has been put in place, the plan can continue to be edited at anytime from the Performance Planning tile on the homepage.

  • In most cases, the Reviewer refers to the next-level supervisor (the employee’s supervisor’s supervisor).

Reviewer Performance Planning

Performance Plan Review, Supervisor Goal Planning Checklist, & Reviewer Sign Off

  1. From the homepage, click the performance planning task. It should be titled “Approve [2020-2021] Classified Performance Planning Checklist for [Employee Name].”

  2. From the overview screen, read the direction and click “Get Started.”

  3. Review the plan that the supervisor has created for their employee and ensure it aligned with university and departmental objective and goals.

  4. If you would like the supervisor to edit the plan before signing off, follow instruction to reopen a step. Otherwise click the Save and Continue button.

Supervisor Goal Planning Checklist & Reviewer Sign Off

  1. The Supervisor Goal Planning Checklist page ensures that a plan has been created and a 1-on-1 meeting has occurred. Ensure the supervisor has checked the boxes for the following items:

    1. Consider alignment of the Performance Plan with the supervisor/department objectives

    2. Create goals, job duties, and competencies for the employee's performance plan

    3. Meet with your employee to discuss their performance plan

  2. Click Next.

  3. On the Reviewer Sign-Off page, provide your signature and click Sign.

  4. Click Submit when you are ready to send the performance plan to the employee.

  5. A confirmation page will display. The performance plan has now been sent to the employee to review and acknowledge.

Employee Performance Planning

Performance Plan Review, Employee Goal Planning Checklist, & Employee Acknowledgment

  1. From the homepage, click the performance planning task. It should be titled “My [2020-2021] Performance Planning Checklist.”

  2. From the overview screen, read the directions and click “Get Started.”

  3. You now have the option to review and add to your plan. If you have any pre-existing goals and goals added by your supervisor that fall within the current review period date range will show up here. You can also add new goals using the Add Performance Plan button in the upper right corner. When adding goals, you can follow steps for Creating a Goal.

  4. Once you’ve reviewed and added all goals, click the Save and Continue button.

  5. The Employee Goal Planning Checklist page ensures that a plan has been created and an in-person, 1-on-1 meeting has occurred. Check the boxes for the following items:

    1. Consider alignment of the Performance Plan with the supervisor/department objectives

    2. Create goals, job duties, and competencies for the employee's performance plan

    3. Meet with your employee to discuss their performance plan

  6. Click Next.

  7. On the Employee Acknowledgment page, provide your signature and click Sign.

  8. Click Submit when you are ready to send the performance plan to the employee.

  9. A confirmation page will display. The performance plan is now in place, and both yourself and your supervisor will receive a notification that the planning task has been completed.

  • At any step prior to submitting, you can use the Save and Exit button to save your changes and return to the task at a later time.

  • While this tasks ensures that a plan has been put in place, the plan can continue to be edited at anytime from the Performance Planning tile on the homepage.
