University Staff: Performance Planning Task

Please NOTE: We recommend navigating to the Performance Planning Tile and ensuring the correct dates and goals are populating in the current performance planning cycle BEFORE starting the task. This will guarantee that the correct cycle and the correct goals are visible within the task.

2023-2024 University Staff planning tasks will be available as of July 1, 2023.

2023-2024 Classified Staff planning tasks are available as of August 1, 2023.

The performance planning task allows you to:

  • View goals created in the Performance Planning Tile

  • Sign-off to acknowledge that you have a plan in place

This performance task is a 2 step process that begins with the supervisor.

At the beginning of each cycle, the supervisor will see a new task in the Tasks (Action Required) section on the homepage. The supervisor will complete the first step of the task:

Step 1: Supervisor Review

Performance Plan Review

  1. From the homepage, click the performance planning task for your employee. It should be titled “[20xx-20xx] Performance Planning Checklist for Direct Reports.”

  2. From the overview screen, read the directions and click “Get Started.”

  3. You now have the option to view the current plan. Before you start this task, we recommend adding goals via the Performance Planning tile. Visit https://cuboulderhr.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CORNERSTON/pages/64454705 to learn how to add a goal to a plan.

  4. Once you’ve reviewed all goals for the employee, click the Save and Continue button.

Supervisor Goal Planning Checklist

  1. The Supervisor Goal Planning Checklist page ensures that a plan has been created and a 1-on-1 discussion has occurred. Check the boxes for the following items:

    1. Consider alignment of the Performance Plan with the supervisor/department objectives

    2. Create goals, job duties, and competencies for the employee's performance plan

    3. Discuss updates to goals, job duties, and competencies with your employee

  2. Click Next.

Supervisor Sign-off

  1. On the Supervisor Sign-Off page, provide your signature and click Sign.

  2. Click Submit when you are ready to send the performance plan to the employee. Click Submit again when the pop-up page asks you to Confirm.

  3. A confirmation page will display. The performance plan has now been sent to the employee to review and acknowledge.

 

Step 2: Employee Acknowledgement

Performance Plan Review

  1. From the homepage, click the performance planning task. It should be titled “My [202x-202x] Performance Planning Checklist.”

  2. From the overview screen, read the directions and click “Get Started.”

  3. You now have the option to view your plan. A meeting with the supervisor should have already occurred a the goals should have been added via the Performance Planning tile. Visit https://cuboulderhr.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/CORNERSTON/pages/64454705 to learn how to add a goal to a plan.

  4. Once you’ve reviewed all goals, click the Save and Continue button.

Employee Goal Planning Checklist

  1. The Employee Goal Planning Checklist page ensures that a plan has been created and a 1-on-1 discussion has occurred. Check the boxes for the following items:

    1. Discuss updates to goals, job duties, and competencies with your supervisor

    2. Review the performance plan created by your supervisor

    3. Edit your performance plan accordingly

  2. Click Next.

Employee Acknowledgment

  1. On the Employee Acknowledgment page, provide your signature and click Sign.

  2. Click Submit when you are ready to finalize the performance planning task. Click Submit again when the pop-up asks you to confirm.

  3. A confirmation page will display. The performance plan is now in place, and both yourself and your supervisor will receive a notification that the planning task has been completed.
