User Guide for HRL's Pushing out Library Goals

Some HRL’s will have access to push out customized department specific goals. This user guide will demonstrate how to navigate to the goal library and push out goals to their respective department and users.

  1. Navigate to the Cornerstone login page.

  2. Click on the Performance Planning Square.

  3. Navigate to the top of the page and select “Create”

  4. Next, click on Library. This will house all your department specific goals that you worked with an HRIT employee to set up before this process.

  5. Once the library is open, select the goal that you would like to push out to your department by using the radio button next to the correct goal and then selecting import. If you are unable to see the departmental goals you are expecting to see, please open a Cornerstone Support Ticket through https://www.colorado.edu/p1c15370b2a9/content/cornerstone-help-form

  6. After the goal has been imported into the Goal Creator, ensure that the cycle dates match the correct cycle (Classified Cycle: 08/01/20XX - 07/31/20XX, University Cycle: 07/1/20XX-06/30/20XX).

    1. Customize the Weight, Type, and University Imperative here

    2. Select Visibility if you would like others to be able to align with this goal.

  7. Select custom assignment and then the OU criteria. This could be user based or department based, depending on how you would like to push the goal out.

    1. If you are pushing it out to Users, select user and click on the side window button to search for users that you would like to assign the goal to

    2. If you are pushing it out to Department, select department and click on the side window button to search for the Department you would like to assign the goal to.

    3. You will only be able to see the users and departments that are relevant to your HRL reach. If you are not seeing what you expect, please navigate to the https://www.colorado.edu/p1c15370b2a9/content/cornerstone-help-form.

    4. Additionally, please ensure that you are assigning the goals to the correct group. Not all users in Cornerstone use Cornerstone and we have to ensure only active users are being assigned the goals. Please consult with the HRIT team and do prior testing before pushing out the goals to your department.

  8. After you have decided who the goal will be pushed out to, make sure “Create a separate goal for each user” is selected. This means that each goal is independent and can no longer be updated centrally.

    1. At this step you can also click Dynamic Assignment. This will give the goals to new hires within the specified date range

  9. After you have checked through the goal, you can hit Submit or Save as Draft, it will stay on the plan of the HRL/goal creator until it is submitted.

  10. Done! To check that the goal has gone through, ask a user you expected to the goal to confirm.

If you have the correct settings on, you may be able to visit a user’s profile and snapshot to confirm that their goals have been pushed through correctly.
