Pushing out Department-wide Goals (as an HR Liaison)
Some HRLs will have access to push out department specific goals. This user guide will demonstrate how to navigate to the goal library and push out goals to all users in a department or division.
Navigate to the Cornerstone login page.
Select the Performance Planning Square.
Navigate to the top of the page and select “Create”
Next, select the Library button. This will house all your department specific goals that you previously created with Central HRIT prior to this process.
Once the library is open, select the goal that you would like to push out to your department by using the radio button next to the goal and then selecting import.
If you are unable to see the departmental goals you are expecting to see, please open a Cornerstone Support Ticket through Cornerstone Help Form
After the goal has been imported into the Goal Creator, ensure that the cycle dates match the correct cycle (Classified Cycle: 08/01/current-year - 06/30/next-year).
Customize the Weight, Type, and University Imperative
Select Visibility if you would like others to be able to align with this goal
Select custom assignment and then the OU criteria. This could be “Users” or “Department” depending on the intended goal receipients.
Pushing to specific employees:
If “User” was selected in the previous step, select the pop-up button to search for users to receive the goal. You can select multiple users.
Pushing out to a department or division
If “Department” was selected in the previous step, select the pop-up button to search for the Department you would like to assign the goal to. If you don’t select a specific department, the goal will be sent to all users in departments to which you have access.
You will only be able to see the users and departments that are relevant to your HRL reach. If you are not seeing what you expect, please navigate to the Cornerstone Help Form.
Additionally, please ensure that you are assigning the goals to the correct group. Not all users in Cornerstone use Cornerstone and we have to ensure only active users are being assigned the goals. We can also temporarily disable your department’s email notifications. Please consult with the HRIT team and do prior testing before pushing out the goals to your department.
Select “Create a separate goal for each user” is selected.
This means that each goal is independent and can no longer be updated centrally.
Select the box for Dynamic Assignment if you would like future hires to also receive this goal.
Considerations
Draft Status
After you have checked through the goal, you can hit Submit or Save as Draft, it will stay on the plan of the HRL/goal creator until it is submitted.
Confirmation
Done! To check that the goal has gone through, ask a user you expected to the goal to confirm.
If you have the correct settings on, you may be able to visit a user’s profile and snapshot to confirm that their goals have been pushed through correctly.
